Hmmm Gee i don't know. Maybe the fact that the Govt controls everything-, has 5,10,20 year plans out the wazoo. The fact that all workers are unionized(-for govt control mostly but still) and the big fact that if you do business in China, they demand that you give them the secrets of all your goods that are produced their that is why they are able to rip so much stuff off. Oh and the GDP is boosted by the building of ghost citys, huge parking lots full of cars bought to add to the GDP etc. The country is a shell, it will never be a super power because it will never be able to extend its own might and power militarily wise out side of its borders. They have Taiwan a small island that they can't even reel in. The south is full of Indians(i don't know so im being general) and Tibetans that at the drop of the hat would rebel if their wasn't such a large military presence in their region, the West is full of Islamic chinese and others that also want their own state but they can't becuase of the huge military presence, and the north is full of mongols and russians that prob would like to be part of their old countries. With huge internal problems like this they will never be able to project anything other than cheap goods and cheap cash to poverty stricken nations.

China doesn't want to be a 'super-pow-er' and doesn't need to be a 'super-pow-er' in order to prosper.

If China is so "successfu-l" why do they have to import so much food? They can't begin to feed their people. They have no public health system, the country is a giant environmen-tal disaster, they are robbing water from their neighbors. I guess the question is, "How do you define success?"
如果中国那么成功，那为什么还进口这么多食物？他们养不活他们的人民。他们没有公共医疗体系，还是个巨大的环境破坏者，他他们从邻国偷水。我想问题应该是“你怎么定义成功？”

There pollution is so bad that most if not all Bee's and other pollinatio-n insects have vanished a majority of their grown food is pollinated by hand....

Don't worry, that is happening here too, honestly, I don't remember when I last saw a bee, maybe a year ago.
不必担心，美国也差不多，我已经记不得什么时候见的蜜蜂了，也许是一年前。
